Subsonic Reflex 40

It's a new longboard that I just got and I'm stoked! This board is more long distance pushing and downhill oriented versus my old board which is more focused for tricks and fancy moves (which I don't know how to do yet). It has a custom feature which is the hand hold for easy carrying. I'm a gentleman skater who doesn't like to get hands dirty and the board gets very dirty when riding over puddles.

Specs:

  • Board: Subsonic Reflex 40

  • Trucks: Holey (chosen just for looks)

  • Wheels: Seismic Blast Wave 78mm 75a

  • Bearings: Rush "All Weather" (with the stainless balls plus one ceramic)

Here's some gear porn:

  1. Hi, just stumbled across your blog after reading your X100/M9 comparison mini review and came across your longboards. How do you find it so far? Was it easy to pick up from scratch? Seems like a nice hobby to pick up :)

  2. Yes, it's easy and feels very natural. In just few days I was able to push pretty fast and foot brake from speeds. Balancing becomes addictive and now I ride my longboard everywhere (if I'm not photographing). All the tricks how ever seems difficult. I have been trying to learn how to slide to control speed in downhill but that is hard.

  3. Cool. Was browsing around online for longboards catered towards cruising but didn't find any similar to yours with the easy carry cut out. Great photos btw, love the tones :)
